UNLUCKY Redditch Borough bowed out of the Worcester Junior Cup after suffering a slender 1-0 semi-final defeat to Droitwich Spa.

Borough were undone by an 87th minute Max Crisp free kick, which they failed to clear and was finally slotted home following a goalmouth scramble.

Dismayed Borough spokesman Julian Workman said: "It was pin-ball in our goalmouth before a deflected shot off Harry Rogers' boot deceived goalkeeper Josh Gandy.

"We'd had a couple of clear chances earlier in the game when Jak Albutt broke through. Had he put just one of those chances away, it would have been a different game.

"But the lads played really well when you consider we were missing the spine of our team with goalkeeper Ryan Young, Kalum Iqbal and Billy Garvey all absent."
