STUDLEY boss John Edwards faces a fight to keep hold of star striker Sean Brain.

The much sort-after Brain has been the subject of several seven day approaches.

Brain has already turned down offers from Redditch United and Highgate United since arriving at Studley from home town club Evesham United.

But Studley have now received further approaches from Stourport Swifts, Coleshill Town and Malvern Town for the chance to speak with Brain who has bagged 19 goals in 13 appearances since arriving at the Beehive.

Edwards admitted: "Hardly a week goes by without receiving an approach from someone for Sean.

"I worked so hard to get him to leave Evesham, but ever since Sean has arrived, the vultures have been circling.

"We had an approach from Redditch even before Sean had played a game for us."

Studley had a rare situation this week when Brain failed to find the net as they beat Heath Hayes 1-0 in Total Motion Midland League Division One.

A solitary Joe Adams strike early in the second half sealed the points but Edwards insisted: "We should have been out of sight by half time. A 1-0 lead is never enough and we had to survive a few scary moments in the last 10 minutes when Heath Hayes came at us."

Studley have snapped up defender Aaron Roberts from Bromsgrove Sporting.

Roberts featured against Heath Hayes in a central defensive role and Edwards added: "It's quite a capture for us. I understand a number of clubs from a higher level including Coleshill Town and Walsall Wood were interested in Aaron, so I'm absolutely delighted he's chosen us."

Studley again have no fixture this Saturday and Edwards said: "It's really disappointing, especially as there have been no games called off. It's simply down to the league structure but it makes it difficult to get any continuity going."
