ALCESTER pulled off an impressive 43-17 success at strugglers Upton on Severn in Midlands 3 West South this week.

Jack Green led the way by grabbing a hat-trick of tries as Alcester hit the ground running by going 33-5 in front by half time.

Victory was all the more impressive as Alcester included several players from their Development side in the starting line-up.

Louis Smith made the initial break before sending veteran Robbie Parker racing over for the opening try before having to leave the field with an injured ankle.

Skipper Phil Birks then crashed over for a second try before Upton opened their account following a series of straight drives.

Alcester responded with three more tries before the break, Green going over twice with Kyran Flynn providing the third while Max Biltcliffe kicked the remaining points.

Upton reappeared as a much bigger pack in the second half and started to take Alcester on up front.

From one controlled scrum, they picked up at the base to drive over for a second try.

Green then completed his hat-trick following a surging run which saw him shrug off several attempted tackles.

Birks then made it a magnificent seven tries to complete the scoring.
