WARRIORS.

5 Pennell – a rare off-day for the full-back who saw his long-range penalty attempt drift wide before being brandished a yellow card for taking out Sharples in the air.

6 Heem – was unable to shackle potent wing Thorley who sped through for two tries but the New Zealander’s work ethic was rewarded with a score of his own late on.

7 Venter – put in several important cover tackles in the first half, defended his channel well and ran hard when he got hold of the ball.

7 MILLS – put in a big defensive shift and even when the game was lost the centre showed great desire and leadership as his burst led to Heem’s try. My man of the match.

6 Adams – with Warriors struggling up front the Wales international had an uneventful day but still made hard yards down the left flank.

6 Weir – his unerring accuracy from the tee helped Warriors get within one point of Gloucester at half-time but lacked spark in attack and slipped off a couple of tackles.

5 Heaney – faced the huge task of stepping in for talisman Hougaard and found life difficult at Kingsholm with a few miscued kicks that put his team under pressure.

6 Black – held firm in a stable Worcester scrum but unnecessarily gave Gloucester a chance to strike in the final act of the first half when he strayed offside. Fortunately for him, they didn’t.

6 Singleton – only saw one of his lineout throws stolen in the opening period but needs to improve his discipline as he was pinged on three occasions.

6 Schonert – did not hit the heights of last week’s faultless defensive performance as he missed some tackles and was unable to assert his authority on the game.

6 Bresler – a mixed afternoon for the lock who put in many monster hits but was guilty of slipping off a few Gloucester players including Thorley who sprinted through for his second try.

5 Phillips – after shoring up Warriors’ lineout against Harlequins the second row did not make the same impression and made little impact in the loose.

5 Hill – was stripped of the ball following his first carry and although he kept banging at Gloucester’s red wall the hosts won the physical battle.

5 Williams – replacing Lewis the flanker got stuck in but struggled to get the better of Gloucester’s back rowers and was forced off following a blow to his arm.

6 van Velze – back in the side after recovering from a shoulder issue the skipper claimed one turnover but had to come off at the break due to a rib injury.
