WARRIORS

8 DAVID – making his first-team debut, the full-back was an excellent last line of defence for Warriors, summed up with a try-saving tackle on Malins at the death. My man of the match.

7 Hammond – delivered a lively display in attack as he showed plenty of intent when he got hold of the ball and brilliantly teed up Howe for his try.

7 Olivier – his experience was vital for Worcester as the skipper provided a physical edge in midfield and produced a fine finish to keep his side in touch.

7 J Williams – stepping up from National One outfit Birmingham Moseley, the on-loan centre ran hard and went close on a couple of occasions to scoring.

8 Howe – has now scored three tries in three appearances this term as he crossed in the corner and provided the assist for Warriors’ opener with a grubber kick to van Breda.

7 van Breda – starting at fly-half for the first time in a Worcester shirt, the utility back missed four kicks at goal in blustery conditions but scored the opening try and was always a threat in attack.

6 Baldwin – was substituted at half-time after a difficult first period as his kicking lacked accuracy at times but played a part in the opening two tries.

6 Bower – a sorry day for the loosehead prop who struggled to get going and sustained a suspected Achilles injury in the first half after being rocked back in a scrum.

7 Cutting – despite a couple of misdirected lineout throws, the academy hooker was pretty accurate and fronted up well against tough opposition.

6 Kerrod – was replaced by Mudariki at the break but had a difficult task against experienced loosehead Barrington in the first 40 minutes.

7 Bean – another Birmingham Moseley loanee who did not look out of place as he enjoyed some aerial battles with Skelton in a touch-tackling 80-minute shift.

7 Kitchener – switched to flanker following Xiourouppa’s early injury the academy lock stuck to his task before being stretchered off with a blow to the head.

Xiourouppa – injured his knee just six minutes into the game after landing awkwardly. He was replaced by debutant Scott who made a good account of himself.

8 M Williams – made a strong case to be man of the match again as he broke through Saracens’ defence early on to signal his intent before scoring a superb try in an energetic display.

7 Cox – launched the attack that led to Williams’ try with an impressive break and his work-rate and aggression helped to keep Warriors in the game.
