STUDLEY'S tough sequence of fixtures continued when they clinched a 1-1 draw at high flying Heather St Johns this week.

It followed a 2-1 defeat at fellow title contenders Atherstone but Studley boss John Edwards was extremely enthused by both performances.

He said: "We were on top against Atherstone and took the lead through Steve Roche.

"But once we went in front, we took our foot off the accelerator and you can't do that against a side like Atherstone.

"I've no complaints, Atherstone were the better side in the second half.

"But I was really disappointed we didn't get more out of the game at Heather St Johns. Again we took the lead, this time through Dale Edwards and if we had gone onto get a second goal, there would have been no way back for Heather.

"I changed the system and played Danny Carter as a lone striker. They couldn't cope with us at times as we kept catching them out on the break and we really should have gone on to win the game."

League life doesn't get any easier for Studley as they face another of the title contenders Racing Club Warwick at The Beehive this Saturday.
