HARRIERS boss Neil MacFarlane insists Harriers will respond to their disappointing defeat to FC United of Manchester.

Kidderminster started the game well and took the lead thanks to Ed Williams’ fifth-minute strike before two deflected efforts from Jack Banister saw the visitors hit back to win 2-1 and lift themselves off the bottom of National League North.

MacFarlane said: “It’s a really disappointing result.

“It’s a game we have to win but I don’t think we did enough through the 90 minutes to win the game.

“We got a perfect start, another terrific goal from Ed Williams but, a bit like the Altrincham game when we scored early doors, we never really got going after that and that’s the disappointing factor.

“It’s the first time we’ve lost at home, we don’t like losing any football matches and again it’s about responding through the course of the season.

“We just didn’t play well enough today. We have a group that when we win we stick together and when we lose we’ll do the same and we’ll respond at Guiseley next week.

“I have no complaints about my group. The group are incredible in terms of every single day they give me everything and that’s all you can ask.

“There are days when it just doesn’t happen for you and it certainly didn’t happen today.

“We’re a real unit, both in staff and players.

“We can’t mask it, we didn’t do well enough today.”
