FECKENHAM face the prospect of missing out on next season's Worcester Premier Division after they crashed to a five wicket defeat against Colwall.

Classy opener Andy Kings carried his bat for an unbeaten 81 not out as Feckenham posted a target of 217 for eight.

But Colwall made light of their task in reply and raced to a winning 218 for five with 10 overs to spare.

Ben Cooke led the charge with a quickfire 69 while Nick Brown with 45 and Ben Febery on 59 not out saw Colwall home.

Feckenham spokesman Tom Coulson said: "We've given up the ghost of getting into the top five this season.

"Mathematically, it's still possible, but in truth, we're not playing well enough and a few words were exchanged afterwards.

"Initially we thought that 180 would be a good score on a really tough pitch but their skipper Ben Cooke came out and crucified the bowling.

"He hit 50 of the first 56 runs scored, while five other runs were no balls.

"By the time he was out, Colwall were so far ahead of the run rate that we couldn't claw it back."

Feckenham travel to strugglers Pedmore this Saturday.
