REDDITCH United has agreed deals with four players as new boss Paul Davis shapes his squad ahead of the season.

Jamie Ashmore, Luke Keen, Max Loveridge and Montel Gibson, who enjoyed a spell with The Reds towards the end of last season, have all put pen-to-paper on contracts and will join the rest of the squad for when pre-season begins on the June 28.

Ashmore played an integral role in helping Alvechurch secure league promotion last term and the right-back, who has turned out for The Reds previously, will be a valuable asset.

Another former Redditch United player, Keen joins from Bedworth after his 18 league goals helped secure his now ex-team secure promotion.

Loveridge is yet another player that joins the club with a winning mentality after he played an integral part in Bromsgrove’s title win last season.

He is also a former Red, and Davis is delighted to have the midfielder back at The Trico.

Gibson will be particularly memorable to The Reds’ faithful after making several appearances at the end of the last season – his brief spell impressed Davis, and the manager believes the club has signed “a very special player”, who at the age of 20, has a “very good scoring record and will go on to achieve a lot in the game”.

Davis added: “Jamie is an outstanding right-back, and I am thrilled to gain his signature. He is excellent defensively, but, like most modern-day full-backs, he is also attack-minded, so we hope he will play his part in adding goals to our team.

“Luke is a proven goal scorer, and the coaching staff and I are confident that he will carry that form into the new season.”

Davis said Keen has a “mature head on young shoulders”, adding: “He has bundles of energy and will be a welcome addition to the squad.”
