REDDITCH United have announce the appointment of Paul Davis as the club's new manager.

Davis will be joined at the Trico stadium by assistant manager Matt Giles, while Jack Wells and Neil Harding have been made first-team coaches, Jack Butler is goalkeeping coach and Matthew Joyce is part of the kit team.

Davis boasts a wealth of managerial and coaching experience. He played an instrumental part in Oxford City’s promotion to the National League South in 2012, while he managed Evo-Stik Southern Premier rivals Banbury United, where he led the club to the Oxfordshire Senior Cup and latter stages of FA Cup and FA Trophy qualifying rounds.

Most recently he was in-charge of Hellenic Football League outfit Ardley United. During his tenure he transformed the side from relegation candidates to league cup champions.

Davis said it was the ambition of Reds’ chairman Chris Swa, that tempted him and his staff to take on this fresh challenge.

He said: "Following conversations with Chris, we are all very excited to get started. We have a clear plan on how to build a squad, with the ethos of Redditch United, and propel the club up the table.

“This is an ambitious club, with a sold infrastructure in-place, and we are all committed to ensuring we build on that and unlock its potential.

“The academy set-up is one that I advised on, and it is vital that we start integrating our best youth prospects into the first-team – if they are ready to make the step up.”

Davis comes in to replace Tim Harris after the former boss stepped down following last Saturday's final gameof the season.

Chris Swan said: “On behalf of the board of directors, players, staff and supporters, I would like to formally welcome Paul and his coaching team to the Trico stadium. This pre-season promises to be a crucial one for the club, as we aim to making strides up the table and deliver results and performances that the supporters want and deserve.

“I will support Paul and his staff to ensure they have everything at their disposal to make the progress we all desire.”
