Redditch United 0, Kettering Town 0

REDDITCH produced an impressive team performance as they shared the spoils against an experienced Kettering side.

There were plenty of chances throughout with both keepers impressing. And it was Poppies shotstopper Paul White who was first called into action, denying Pauly Apostocopoulos with a decent save after just seven minutes.

Redditch striker Dior Angus then crashed an effort just wide moments later before home keeper Ethan Ross pulled off an excellent save, diving to his right to palm away a James Brighton free-kick.

The Reds finished the half the stronger and it needed another good save from White to keep out youngster Zaqib Hussain five minutes before the interval.

The second period followed a similar course to the first with White agains saving his side, keeping out another Hussain effort before palming a well-struck Danico Johnson shot around the upright.

Back came the Poppies though following the introduction of powerful substitute Rene Howe who drilled a shot over the target before Aaron O’Connor had a shot blocked before seeing Ross save his follow-up.

But it was the home side who had the final chance of the game deep in injury time, an excellent overhead kick from Johnson that was blocked on the line.
