Redditch United 1, Slough Town 4

Redditch slumped to a dismal defeat at the hands of fellow high-fliers Slough in front of their biggest crowd of the season.

A bumper turnout of the 449 saw the Reds make an encouraging start with Dior Angus going close inside five minutes when he latched on to a through ball only for his chipped effort to be clawed away by keeper Jack Turner.

The striker made amends though on 17 minutes when he was sent in on goal by Spencer Weir-Daley, wrong-footed a defender and placed his shot beyond Turner.

The celebrations were cut short seven minutes later when Chris Flood bagged the equaliser, finding the bottom corner from 15 yards.

Both sides pressed in search of the lead and Weir-Daley was denied by an outstanding save from Turner just after the half-hour.

It looked as though the sides would go in all square at the break but Slough struck again four minutes before half-time when Warren Harris picked out Manny Williams in the centre and he headed beyond Reds keeper Ethan Ross.

Buoyed by the goal, the visitors had the better of the second half and further goals from Flood and Harris wrapped up the points.

Flood bagged his second on 54 minutes following some neat footwork inside the box and Harris stabbed home the fourth on 70 minutes after a long ball forward eluded the United defence.

Redditch struggled to get back into the game and the closest they went in the second half was when Angus steered a shot wide of the target following a low cross from substitute Donnell Benjamin.
