CRICKET: Unbeaten Redditch notched up their seventh win of the season in Worcestershire Division Two as they saw off Wormelow in a rain hit clash.
The Kingfishers won the toss and put their opponents into bat and they made 173-9 in 50 overs, with Lachlan Henry hitting 99 runs.
A delay for the weather reduced Redditch’s target for victory and they made 97-2, with Rizwan Mohammad Choudry (31) and Russell Southwick (33) top scoring. Redditch remain top of the table and they go to Bromyard on Saturday (1pm start). Feckenham suffered a 60 run defeat at the hands of Lye. The Millers had won the toss and elected to bowl first and their rivals from the Black Country reached 176 all out.
Tom Coulson was the pick of their bowlers with 4-40. Despite opener batsman Daniel Bloomer top scored with 41 runs but Feckenham slipped to 116 all out, with three wickets for Waqas Ahmed.
Feckenham visit Enville in the league this weekend (1pm start).
Alvechurch and Hopwood got the better of Worcester Dominies by 33 runs.
Matt Hayward top scored with 69 runs as they made 197 all out. Ivan Burgess bagged six wickets for 24 runs as Worcester were dismissed for 164. Church are at home to Bredon this week (1pm start).
