ASTWOOD Bank under-10s defeated local rivals Barnt Green on Friday night to clinch the East Worcestershire League for the third year running.

On a barmy evening in front of a packed crowd Barnt Green batted first after winning the toss.

Alfie Armstrong added another scalp to his growing record and Owen Oxley hit the wickets with a direct throw to run out the Barnt Green opening batsman.

Padraig Duggan, Matt Harland and Josh Baker all took wickets, while Elliot Dennis bowled two faultless maiden overs as Barnt Green lost two key batsman late on to leave them with just 223 from their 16 overs.

Needing only 24 to clinch the title, Bank were in no mood to let this opportunity slip.
