STRIKER Edwin Ahenkorah marked his Redditch United debut with a goal in each half as his side ran out 5-0 winners at Pershore Town.

The former Rocester frontman slotted home a first half penalty and then showed some neat footwork to double his tally as the Reds kicked off their pre-season in style.

Midland Combination Pershore did well to contain their visitors early on, an excellent point-blank save from Matt Oliver denying Kyle Patterson.

The breakthrough came on 27 minutes when midfielder Alex Price fired home from 25 yards with Ahenkorah scoring from the spot four minutes later after Reds youngster Joel Cain had been tripped.

Ahenkorah’s neat finish from Charlie Reece’s pass came three minutes into the second half and the Reds wrapped up an impressive display with further goals from Jermaine Hylton and youth teamer Dan Brain in the final quarter.
