REDDITCH Borough Council Health Commission came together in March to consider the proposed reorganisation by Worcestershire Acute Hospital Trust which will, if adopted, reduce services at the Alexandra Hospital.
Based on the result of a survey carried out in Redditch, the Commission developed 12 recommendations to amend the proposals, securing the NHS services available to the residents of Redditch, Bromsgrove, Studley and the surrounding area.
At the vote, 11 of the proposals were accepted unanimously; the final recommendation was passed by majority despite the councillors following their party lines.
How disappointing that our councillors could not unite on all 12 recommendations for the benefit of Redditch residents; party lines were more important than their constituents.
