I WAS deeply offended by the comments R Pattison made in last week’s edition.
How dare he imply that 60 per cent of the people of Redditch (myself included) were motivated by hate and racism. I fully acknowledge the contribution that many EU nationals make to this country and have friends who are Polish, I have worked with French, German and Polish people and to date have not come across and unemployed Polish person.
I make no apologies for voting to leave the EU as no country can sustain uncontrolled levels of immigration, the strain on our public services is too much at present.
We have thousands of British children sleeping in B&Bs long term, thousands of British homeless people, people dying because the NHS is at breaking point, schools with large numbers of pupils in classrooms, schools with no playgrounds because porta cabins have been erected as classrooms in the playgrounds.
