AN outdoor activity centre has been targeted in a “mindless” arson attack.

The team from Boundless Outdoors Centre in Malvern say they’re devastated following the vandalism attack on Tuesday.

The vandals ripped out furniture from tents on the glamping site and threw them on a campfire which destroyed the items and resulted in the site being scorched.

Nick Hands, chief executive of Boundless Outdoors said: "We were devastated to arrive into work and see our hard work in ashes on the floor.

“They pulled most of the furnishings from the tents on to the camp fire so everything was destroyed so all the mattresses, bedding, apple crates, throws and cushions were ruined and the site was rather singed.

"Not to be disheartened the team sprung into action and the glamping site is back up and running once again.

"We were devastated when this happened but we’ve worked so hard over the last few months to find new ways to open that we aren’t going to let it knock us down. We are really proud of our beautiful campsite and are excited to continue to welcome guests over the summer."

The vandalism took place after The Guardian featured the glamping site and rated it in the top 10 of the UK’s best rural holidays for families.

The centre posted on its Facebook page: “This is not the post we would ever have expected to write tonight. Only days after being included in Guardian ten best UK rural family breaks we have been the victim of a mindless arson attack on our beautiful Malvern glamping site.

“We’ve overcome a lot over the past few months and created some great new adventures for our customers so we aren’t going to let this knock us down.

“Instead we’re working hard to get the campsite ready and are looking forward to welcoming our guests back to Boundless Outdoors.”

Staff are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
