A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment after a woman was allegedly 'held hostage' overnight in a flat in Quinton.
The man gave himself up this morning at around 10.30am after a 17-hour stand-off with police in cul-de-sac Tarrant Grove.
Police negotiators were at the scene, with the road closed off.
Birmingham Police tweeted this morning: "A man has been arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment after holding a woman hostage overnight in Tarrant Grove #Birmingham.
"The man gave himself up voluntarily just before 10.30am this morning."

Earlier this morning they had tweeted: "Officers are currently outside a property in Tarrant Grove, #Birmingham where a man has been holding a woman hostage since yesterday evening.
"The road is cordoned off and police negotiators are at the scene to help bring the incident to a safe conclusion."
