PLANS have been submitted to convert a former Blackheath butchers into four shops with HMO accommodation above.

An application has been put to Sandwell Council to convert the site of the former John Neale butchers on High Street, Blackheath, at the corner of Short Street, into four shops.

Under plans there would be HMO accommodation for four people - with two bedrooms and a bathroom and kitchen on the first floor and two further bedrooms in a loft conversion above the existing shop.

The existing shop would be split into two retail units with the HMO accommodation above.

The buildings at the rear of the shop would be demolished and there would be two shops stretching out along Short Street with two self-contained one-bedroom flats above.

They have been submitted by Mr E Sadria, of ES Trading West Limited, which is based in Harborne.

At Companies House the firm is listed as being in the business of unlicensed restaurants and cafes.

House of Multiple Occupancy (HMO) living involves sharing part of the accommodation.

It applies to both bedsit-style housing and shared housing where a group of people who are not related share a house or flat.
