AN ICONIC Hereford hotel is gearing up to reopen their doors after temporarily closing during lockdown.

The Green Dragon Hotel in Hereford's Broad Street will be opening to guests once again on August 1.

Operating procedures have been adapted to ensure the safety of guests and staff, with measures including social distancing, enhanced cleaning regimes, and all staff receiving Covid-19 awareness training.

Staff at the historic Hereford hotel will also be signing daily health declarations and have their temperatures checked before starting their shift.

Long a jewel in Hereford's crown, the landmark hotel had fallen into disrepair in recent years, but has now undergone a dramatic transformation, since it was acquired by a group of Herefordshire investors keen to restore the building to its former glory.

"We are delighted to share that we are planning to re-open our doors on August 1," a spokesperson said.

"The team here at Green Dragon Hotel will welcome guests to our safe and spacious areas, including The Hereford, Garrick Lounge, Offa Bar, and the Orange Bar.

Bedrooms will also be available for those wishing to stay at the hotel.
