MALVERN opened its doors to the public for the first time since lockdown with a farmers market in the grounds of Great Malvern Priory.

A steady stream of visitors turned out for what was the town's first public event since the lockdown began.

the Farmers' Market, which took place on Saturday, June 20, saw many stalls completely sold out by the end of the day.

Bookings manager Becky Boffy said she was delighted with how it all went on the day.

She said: "The Priory was the perfect location to enable us to provide a safe and relaxed event.

"There was a steady flow of customers all day - much more than myself or the traders anticipated.

"Trade was amazing with many stall holders selling out. Clearly people were so excited to be let out that they were in the perfect frame of mind to spend some money.

"The feedback from both traders and the public was exceptionally positive.

"They were delighted to welcome the market back to Malvern."

Each of the stalls was placed three metres apart, the stall holders were two metres away from their clients and only one customers approached a stall at a time, with a two metre queuing system and hand sanitisers in place.

The next market will be held in the Priory grounds on Saturday July 18.
