THE bomb squad have been out to a house in Evesham after a grenade was found.
Eyewitnesses say the bomb squad and at least three police cars were outside a house in Windsor Road at about 3pm.
She said: “I saw the bomb van and at least three police cars.
“There were a lot of neighbours milling around outside.”
A police spokesman said: "Officers were called today (Monday 8 June) at just after 1pm by a member of the public who discovered what he believed was a grenade in Windsor Road, Evesham.
"In order to protect the public a neighbouring property was evacuated and the Army Explosive Ordinance Department (EOD) were called.
"They quickly established that it was an empty grenade. The EOD are arranging for it to be safely destroyed."
