HIGH Town, Hereford, was an amazing sight on VE Day.
Huge crowds of people, many in military uniforms or sporting red-white-and-blue rosettes, gathered to celebrate the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany and the end of the war in Europe.

There was singing, dancing and more than a few toasts drunk to Winston Churchill and Britain's magnificent Armed Forces.
Later a civic parade was held to mark the great victory.
