TENBURY High Ormiston Academy student, Josh Dyer, has been announced as the winner of the Worcestershire City Council prize for poetry in his age category.

Entrants were asked to submit two poems including one on the subject of identity, with Josh opting for his poem ‘One thousand men are walking’ and ‘An identity for someone who’s forgotten theirs.’

The panel of judges included Birmingham Poet Laureate (2017-2018) Matt Windle, songwriter and performance coach Ade Holbrook, and award-winning performance poet ‘Spoz.’

Josh, aged 15, had already received international recognition for his poem ‘One thousand men are walking’ which commemorates those who served in the World Wars. He was asked by the Royal Air Force to read the poem at their Remembrance Day parade in High Wycombe.
