This eye-catching picture of an unusual pair of aircraft flying low over a brilliant-yellow oilseed rape field in Herefordshire was taken by Joe Thompson, of the Hereford Times Camera Club.
They appear to be Bell Boeing Ospreys, an American military aircraft that can take off and land both vertically and horizontally.

They are designed to combine the particular functions of a conventional helicopter with the long-range, high-speed flying performance of a turboprop aircraft.
Joe was not the only camera club member aircraft spotting this week.
Belinda Olsen captured this shot of what she believes is a giant 2 USAF Marine Corps Hercules transport aircraft over South Hereford yesterday afternoon (April 23).
