Two police cars were rammed in a 50-mile chase through rural Herefordshire.
They were damaged while officers were in pursuit south along the A465 Abergavenny road through the county following the theft of two 4x4s.
Police released a picture of one of their cars, which had substantial damage to its rear offside.
The pursuit ended in Cwmbran, Wales, where three people were held by police.
The stolen vehicles, one with a trailer, were recovered.
Gwent Police, police in Worcestershire and the police helicopter were also involved in the operation.
