A TENBURY businesswoman says that Government support is falling short.
Carole Collier, who runs Smarty Pants in Teme Street, thinks that it is unreasonable to ask many businesses to take out loans.
There has been criticism of the speed in which banks are providing loans.
This is partly because the loans are 80 per cent covered by the Government and despite an appeal from Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak who pointed out that the public bailed out the banks a decade ago and now is their turn to do their bit for the country.
“I know that the loans route is not right for me,” said Ms Collier.
“These loans will one day have to be repaid and this is too much to expect from many businesses at this time. In Tenbury we have been hit by the floods and now we have this terrible virus to cope with.”
