SIR – It seems the latest topic up for debate by the social media “experts”, is what constitutes an essential item when out shopping.
Obviously the “experts” know exactly what should and shouldn’t be bought.
However, I’m positive they are just as guilty as buying non-essential item as everyone else.
Technically dairy and meat are non essential.
They also castigate people for using DIY and homeware shops.
On the surface these may not seem essential, but for millions suffering from mental health issues and children who are stuck indoors, these shops give them the chance to keep mentally and physically active.
Whether it’s doing a few odd jobs around the house or stocking up on arts and crafts to keep the children occupied.
This is a very real and essential service, which is why the government has allowed them to keep open.
These “experts” are either extremely naive or really have no empathy. I wish they would think before berating the vulnerable in our society.
