A 'COUCH quiz' will raise much-needed funds for Wyre Forest's KEMP Hospice which has been hit hard by the coronavirus outbreak.

The charity will host its first online fundraising quiz on Saturday, April 11 to help top up funds, and is urging as many people as possible to take part.

Coralie Hudson, KEMP community fundraiser, said: “Like so many charities, we are facing a severe knock on our fundraising income and so, to give our Wyre Forest community a boost and to raise vital funds, we decided to host a fun virtual event which our supporters can take part in during the Easter weekend, while following the Government guidelines to stay at home.”

Kidderminster Shuttle:

The charity's day hospice has been forced to temporarily close its doors due to the covid-19 outbreak, but KEMP is continuing to support people across the district through a new meal home delivery service for patients, and its bereavement service, which is now supporting clients over the phone and online.

KEMP supporter Rob Stride, who is presenting the quiz live on Zoom from 7pm, said: "I was compelled to lend a helping hand during these difficult times we are all facing together.

"I can think of no better local organisation to support than KEMP Hospice who are pulling out all the stops to support vulnerable local people right now.

Kidderminster Shuttle:

"They do amazing work in the area and I wanted to do my bit to help them to raise the much-needed funds so they can continue to support local Wyre Forest residents when they need them most.”

The KEMP Couch Quiz champion will win a £30 Just Eat voucher and there will also be prizes for second and third places, as well as for the best team name.

The cost to enter for a team from the same household is £10. Full details about how to sign up can be found at kemphospice.org.uk.
