A BIRTHDAY celebration for a woman turning 100 has not been stopped by coronavirus.

Glady Page lives at Springfield Rest Home in Malvern where she enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Glady said of the coronavirus pandemic: “ It beats the time during war - it’s much harder to deal with today’s world - there’s no escape from each other.”

She led a full and active life until at the age of 95, when she had a serious fall at her home and never quite recovered from her injuries and has been in care ever since.

A spokesman for the home in Ranelagh Road said: “Staff have agreed to stay in the home for the next seven days to help protect our vulnerable, reducing the amount of staff coming and going.

“We are a dementia home and during these difficult times ahead, it’s for us to protect. residents.
