LION Health GP surgery in Stourbridge has postponed all cervical smears and joint injections due to the coronavirus.

The surgery off Lowndes Road, Wollaston, has also postponed blood testing appointments, minor surgical procedures and injections of cancer/osteoporosis drug Denosumab in addition to cancelling all face to face GP appointments.

Its blood thinning clinic continues, but is subject to changes, and physiotherapy continues through telephone appointments only.

The family planning clinic is providing a limited service only.

Surgery bosses have said they will contact people receiving injections of insulin and B12 and those needing contraceptive injections and shots for whooping cough and anaemia.

Childhood immunisations and midwife appointments are continuing as usual and people can attend the surgery for matters involving dressings, sutures and clips.

A statement on the surgery's Facebook page said: "Any action we are taking is to ensure safe patient care, and capacity to continue providing our services."

Anyone who needs any advice about their health should call the practice.
