ANOTHER 21 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Worcestershire, bringing the total confirmed cases to 76.

The figures, released daily by Public Health England, were accurate as of 9am on Thursday, March 26.

As the Government is no longer testing people who are self-isolating with mild symptoms, many cases may not be detected.

Birmingham now has the most confirmed cases of all local authorities in the UK, with a total of 290 cases.

As of yesterday, there were 11,658 confirmed cases of the virus in total across the UK, including 578 deaths.

This includes one death at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, announced on Tuesday, and another at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, confirmed the day before.

2,129 cases were confirmed across the UK yesterday alone. In total, 135 confirmed patients have recovered from the virus.
