AN elderly man has died at Worcestershire Royal Hospital after testing positive for coronavirus, the trust has confirmed.
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has announced that a man aged in his 80s passed away at the county hospital after being diagnosed with Covid-19.
The patient had underlying health conditions.
Matthew Hopkins, chief executive of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “We can confirm that sadly, a patient in his eighties who had underlying health conditions has passed away at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
"He had tested positive for COVID-19.
“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time."
The announcement comes a day after the trust confirmed its first death linked to coronavirus at a Worcestershire hospital.
The first patient, also a man, passed away at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.
