There was a brave attempt stage the next Malvern Priory organ recital, but in the end it had to be cancelled, because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Spanish organist Manuel Toregrossa, who was coming to Malvern specially to give the next recital on Saturday, March 28 was forced to cancel.
The priory then secured the services of Paul Carr for this recital.
Mr Carr is well known for his frequent recitals in the Birmingham area, particularly St Chad’s Cathedral, and has performed in many European countries and in the USA, and his programme would have included works by Widor, Bach and Vierne, commencing at noon on the day.
The plan was, in the light of the coronavirus pandemic, for music lovers in the Priory to sit one or two metres apart.
And there was to have been a large screen so members of the audience could see Mr Carr at the keys. But with Government advice from Monday evening for people to avoid large gathering such as music concerts and at theatres, Mr Carr's recital will now not take place.
