FOOD producers will get a big boost at this year’s Moreton Show, with most food and drink stands around the showground coming from caterers based within a 20-mile radius of the showground.

In another move backing local food, the Warner’s Budgens Cotswold Food Market will offer local food sellers – who are based within 20 miles of the show - a 25 per cent discount on the price of a stand. A pitch in the popular food marquee will cost as little as £113, plus VAT, for producers from the local area.

This year’s Moreton Show is on Saturday, September 5. Events Coordinator, Melissa Harrison said: ‘We’ve decided that this year we want to focus on showcasing all the amazing food and the food producers we have in the local area.

‘Moreton Show has a great reputation for the very best in food and farming. We’re proud of promoting food from farm to fork and we want to extend this to people who are making delicious food with fantastic local ingredients.

‘More and more people want to know where their food comes from and buy local. The provenance of our food is becoming increasingly important to shoppers. We want to encourage local producers to show off their brilliant produce.’

Moreton Show is one of the biggest one-day agricultural shows in the country, with thousands of visitors and around 350 trade stands.

Melissa Harrison added: ‘Our trade stand space is selling out faster than ever for 2020. People now know that we’re a great shopping destination, selling everything from combines to cashmere, tweed to tractors, wellies to wax jackets and lots more.’

Moreton Show features the best in farm stock and more than 1000 horses and riders compete in the horse showing and showjumping classes.

Children can experience all the fun of the farm in ‘Farmtastic’, an area dedicated to farm animals and farming. Meanwhile, the headline acts destined to entertain crowds in the Grand Arena acts will be announced shortly.
