A DAD has denied threatening and abusive behaviour at Worcester Police Station, telling a judge that CCTV footage will clear his name.

Jason Bridger of no fixed address denied using threatening or abusive words or behaviour when he appeared before a deputy district judge at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The 33-year-old, previously of Carlisle Road, Ronkswood, Worcester represented himself at the hearing.

He denied the offence, said by the prosecution to have taken place at the police station in Castle Street on November 30 last year.

It is said that he 'used threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of someone likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress', otherwise known as a section five public order offence.

Bridger, who described himself as a father of two, said to the judge: "I only need the CCTV for my case. If you can request audio and visual."

He accepts he was present at the police station but denies his behaviour was as described.

A trial date was set for February 14 at Worcester Magistrates Court.

Bridger said he wanted to call his own witnesses. The deputy district judge directed that Bridger be supplied with any CCTV or body worn footage by January 30.

Bridger was granted unconditional bail until the next hearing.
