COLWALL’S annual Wassail, being organised by Colwall Orchard Group, is taking place at Colwall Village Garden on Saturday, January 18 at 5.30pm.
Wassail, or ‘Waes Hael’ means ‘be in good health’ with folk gathering on a winter’s evening to celebrate the fruit harvest that’s been, and to wake up the trees for the harvest to come.
This event brings the Wassail tradition into the 21st century with its primary aim to celebrate traditional orchards and to raise awareness about the important role that orchards can have in caring for the environment.
Last year’s event was a record turnout and this year tickets should be purchased in advance via www.colwallorchardgroup.co.uk or via John Goodwin Estate Agents, Colwall.
Tickets are £3 per adult and £1 per child.
