A NEW rail timetable launched yesterday promising improved services and shorter journeys, has already resulted in delayed and cancelled services.
Great Western Railway’s new timetable encountered teething problems on its first day, with staff shortages resulting in several cancellations.
There were more issues this morning, as GWR said a fault with the signalling system at Maidenhead had caused further cancellations and delays.
The issues caused problems for commuters starting the new week, with routes into and out of London Paddington among those affected.
GWR said there were delays and possible cancellations between Reading and Paddington, affecting passengers travelling to London from the Worcestershire area.
