MUSIC enthusiasts in Bewdley are invited to an evening of old country blues when a London band return to town

Doc Bowling and His Blues Professors will perform their unique brand of folk, country, funk and jazz inspired music to St George's Hall on Friday, December 13.

The band have been delighting audiences in small and large venues across the UK, Ireland and Europe for nearly a decade.

Their original songs bring new life to some country and blues tunes with contemporary political commentary.

Their brand new album Cosmopolitan Soul is an exploration of the diversity of the blues, a musical form that comes from a particular place but resists being constrained by that place.

It draws from the music of the Mississippi delta that transformed as it migrated north to Chicago, across the USA and from there to Britain and across the world.

Most of the songs on the record started life as a twelve bar blues progression that morphed into folk-blues, country-blues, rocking-blues, funk, jazz, Latin & African rhythms.

Music fans can expect a lively night and the band is sure to keep people dancing through the evening.

Tickets for the concert cost £12 and are available via thehall-bewdley.org.uk.

People can also purchase tickets on the door for £15.

Doors open at 7.30pm.
