Eco warriors at Westacre Middle School are calling upon Droitwich residents, business owners and local schools to join them in turning off lights and electrical devices.

The Big Switch Off sees people turning off for half an hour, from 2pm to 2.30pm on Friday, December 6.

Supported by Droitwich Youth Council and Witton Middle School, the second Big Switch Off strives to raise awareness about how electricity is wasted and measures that we can take to limit our impact on the environment.

The school was delighted that so many in the local community, as well as others across Worcestershire, were able to participate last time and reduce their energy consumption however the pupils feel more must be done.

Anyone who wants to be involved should contact Westacre Middle School via their twitter page @WestacreMiddle.
