INSPECTORS are awaiting a report from an analyst in their investigation into a Chinese takeaway where a couple claim they found a human tooth in their curry.

Worcestershire Regulatory Services visited Newtown Cantonese Takeaway on October 28, after Worcester News revealed Stephanie McDonough and David Burrows made the alleged discovery three days before.

A city council spokesman confirmed at the time WRS officers visited the business and interviewed staff, adding, the "investigation is ongoing".

A spokesman has since said: "I’ve spoken to the food inspection team – they say they haven’t as yet had the report back from the analyst."

It is expected the report will be with the inspectors later this week.

A woman who claimed to be the manager of the takeaway, which currently has a four-star food hygiene rating, said inspectors "took everything out" of the kitchen during their visit.

Speaking prior to our articles in October, she said she had been told a report would be completed within two weeks, but until then she did not want to comment on the matter. She would not give her name.
