The Budapest Café Orchestra play music so inspiring, they say, you’ll want to book a river cruise down the Danube. Apparently.
And the good news is, they are set to get toes tapping with a romp at Pershore’s No 8, where they will not be strangers.
A spokesman said: “Following their rapturously received performance here in 2017 the quartet returns to Number 8.
“Led by jazz violin superstar Christian Garrick, The Budapest Café Orchestra play gypsy flavoured music from across the Balkans and Russia. Klezmer, Romanian doinas, Hungarian czadas and beautiful ballads – such as the theme to Schindler’s List and Andy Statman’s beautiful Flatbush Waltz – are all featured.”
The spokesman added: “The music evokes vivid images of fiddle maestros, Budapest café life and gypsy campfires as, with infectious enthusiasm.”
But where exactly do they hail from? A spokesman said: “The Budapest Cafe Orchestra share as many blood cells with the folk of Hungary as the Penguin Cafe Orchestra do with the web-footed fellows of Antarctica."
The performance takes place on Saturday, November 16, at 7.30pm.
