A SCHOOLBOY has been given a Worcestershire Good Citizen Award by police.
Ewan Buchanan was recognised for his tireless fundraising efforts for Worcester’s homeless community.
He was presented with his award at a ceremony on Tuesday, October 15 at the Hindlip police headquarters.
The evening was held to celebrate the achievements of ten inspiring young people across Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire who are doing great things in their local communities.
The awards were presented by the High Sheriff of Worcestershire, Edward Holloway, and the event was attended by the Assistant Chief Constable, Martin Evans.
Ewan, a year 9 student at Nunnery Wood High School, was presented with a specially commissioned certificate and a voucher to the value of £50 to thank him for his efforts.
Ewan said: “I’m quite surprised to be nominated for this award as there were so many people across three Counties who were nominated.
"I feel very proud. It was a very lovely evening to celebrate the hard work and dedication of young people across West Mercia. I am really honoured that I have been recognised alongside others who are doing amazing things.”
Ewan's dad Adam Buchanan said: “We are extremely proud of Ewan and it’s lovely to see all of his hard work recognised, alongside some really exceptional young people.”
