A POP-UP cafe will launch at a Kidderminster funeral home this Halloween to lift the lid on the subject of death and loss.

The free 'Death Cafe' will be held quarterly at Attwood Funerals in Marlpool Lane to give people a safe and relaxed environment to ask questions and discuss the difficult subject.

Organiser Kate Spohrer said: "The Death Cafe is an opportunity to talk about death without feeling self-concious.

"It's an hour and half for people to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake and ask any questions which they might have been reluctant to ask before.

"There's no expectation so people can come along and not say a word if they want to.

"I've held similar events in Wolverhampton and I have found that once people know they are in safe company they feel more comfortable lifting the lid on a subject that affects us all.

"Our aim is to increase awareness and reduce the stigma of death to help people make the most of their finite lives. After all, none of us get out alive."

The first event will take place on Thursday, October 31 between 7.30pm and 9pm.
