REDDITCH MP Rachel Maclean has been appointed the Chancellor’s Parliamentary Private Secretary.

Following her appointment as the Chancellor of the Exchequer (and Bromsgrove MP) Sajid Javid's Parliamentary Private Secretary, Rachel said that Worcestershire is truly represented in the Treasury.

“It’s an honour to be appointed the Chancellor’s Parliamentary Private Secretary," she said.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Sajid, my constituency neighbour, on the Government’s ambitious plans to take our country forward and to get Brexit delivered by October 31.

“I’ve been a PPS to various Ministers now, but I just want to reassure my constituents that my new role will not affect my constituency work at all. I’ll still be living and working in Redditch."

Mr Javid said he was delighted to announce that his "friend, colleague, and neighbour" would be joining the Treasury as his new Parliamentary Private Secretary.
