A MAN from Dudley has been arrested after four people were injured when a car fleeing a burglary crashed into a wall in Great Wyrley.

Staffordshire Police were called to a burglary in progress at an address in Walsall Road at around 1.10am this morning (Sunday, September 15).

When officers arrived, the suspects made off in a white VW Golf which then collided with a wall near to the Orbital island in Walsall Road.

Four men were injured - two of them seriously - and all were taken to hospital for treatment.

A 22-year-old man from Dudley has since been arrested on suspicion of burglary and aggravated vehicle taking.

He remains in police custody this afternoon.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "Enquiries are ongoing, and any witnesses, or anyone with any information is asked to contact 101, quoting incident number 0065 of September 15."

The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
