SCARECROW Sunday is coming to a village near Ludlow.

It will be at Brampton Bryan on Sunday, August 4.

This week the scarecrows will be showing that they can be smart with a catwalk fashion show.

There will be stalls selling a range of produce, books and plants.

People will be able to take part in tours of the nearby castle and there will also be tours of the village on a strawberry cart.

There will be a chance to buy lunch, there will be hot dogs, ice cream and teas.

Amongst the activities will be the chance to have a go at archery.

Knighton Silver Band will be performing and there will be organ recitals as well as a flower festival in St Barnabas Church.

Ardvark Books will be open for coffee, cake and books.

Pets are welcome and there will be a fun dog show.

A £100 raffle prize means that people could go home better off.

Off road parking will be available free of charge. The entrance free is £2 with children aged 12 and under free. The day will be from 11am until 5pm and will be signposted from the A4113. There will be a special evensong in the church at 6.30pm.

Funds raised will be for St Barnabas Church and other charities within the parish. Annually the event shares funds with the local hospices and other charities
