THE heartbroken family of teenager who died after suffering a head injury at a quarry in Stourport has described him as a "legend" who touched so many lives.

Jayden Clarke's body was recovered from Shavers End Quarry by police divers on Monday, July 8.

On Thursday, police revealed his identity, confirming it was the 18-year-old Worcester student whose body had been found.

Police said he died from a head injury before entering into the water.

Jayden's family has paid tribute to the young man, who was studying motor mechanics at Heart of Worcestershire College, and have thanked well-wishers for donating towards his funeral at justgiving.com/crowdfunding/rideforjay.

In a statement, the family said: "We want to say how grateful we are for everyone’s support and donations through the Just Giving page and to the divers that recovered Jayden from the quarry.

"Jayden is known as a legend and has touched so many peoples lives.

"He was the most caring, kind and gentle person and everyone loves him.

"Jayden lived his life on two wheels and his bikes were his world."

A funeral will be held at 12pm on Tuesday, July 30 at St Barnabas Church in Church Road, Worcester, then Worcester Crematorium at 1pm.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: "Formal identification has taken place, and it has been confirmed as missing 18-year-old Jayden Clarke that entered the water on the evening of Sunday, July 7.

"The body has been recovered by police divers from North West Police underwater search team that have been helping West Mercia Police with the investigation.

"The post-mortem revealed Jayden Clarke died of a head injury before entering the water.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious."

An inquest into Jayden's death opened on Tuesday (July 16) and has been adjourned awaiting reports until February next year.
