A FLOOD alert is ongoing after heavy rainfall caused the River Severn water levels in Bewdley and Stourport to rise last week.
The Environment Agency worked into the night on Saturday, June 15, to put emergency flood barriers in place in Bewdley.
The river levels in Bewdley peaked at 3.86m yesterday (Sunday, June 16), with the town fully opening for business.
Environment Agency manager for Herefordshire and Worcestershire Dave Throup said in a Tweet: "Fantastic work at Bewdley to get the flood barriers up in record time."

Areas of Stourport were also affected by high river levels. A flood alert for Sandy Lane and Severnside was put in place, but has since been removed after river levels in the area peaked.
River levels are expected to remain high over the next few days, and the situation is being closely monitored.
